Hello y'all

I know it's been a while since I wrote something down...*grinning*. I hope to do more writing from time to time though...

There's something that struck me sometime ago and I will like to share with us...

I was going through a bible passage in one of my quiet moments, and I was reading the book of Job chapter 1. There was something that struck me which was from verse 6-12. Verse 7: The LORD said to Satan, "From where do you come?" Then Satan answered the LORD and said, "From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it." , God asked him if he had considered his servant, Job (“meanwhile and I’m like "God, why you go do this kain tin na? Afterall, Job been dey on him own and him noh do enittin wrong") and just called on satan to go and disturb Job.

Bottom line, God was proud of Job as his own and he also wanted to use his own to shine before the devil and there was also a deliberation about Job, as to whether or not he was faithful...

Now, how many of us are faithful? How many can be found worthy in even little things. At the end of the day, Job withstood all wiles of the devil and overcame. How many of us can withstand all that? How many of us will keep the faith and still trust God while being tempted?

Bringing it to our day-to-day lives, how many men and women can be found faithful in their relationships, marriages, workplaces...? Can your wife or to-be wife stand up and say “I know my husband/husband-to-be, he/she can be tempted but will not fall for any temptation whatsoever...” can your boss stand up for you and defend you with his/her life in some certain situations? Can your landlord/co-tenants stand in the gap for you where other people try to bring you down falsely?

Cheating, lying, backbiting, stealing...may be easy for you to do and get away with, why don’t you try something challenging like being faithful, truthful...I’ve tried it, and still doing it and it has paid off and still does pay off.

What will you be remembered for? What positive impact have you been able to make in your environment so far?

If out of every 10 persons, 8 are found faithful, this world would be a better place to live in.

Hey peeps, hope we are all doing great.

I was going through my archive to see what I have posted and the ones I haven't and I found out that I didn't get to post this one below. This post has been written since 2013 and I have decided to still post it #TeethySmile

A short story...

I was in church for sunday service a few months back and the praise leader (who happens to be my friend) was doing her thing. As the songs flowed, she raised a song "Lift him up higher, lift him up higher, the Lord is good I will lift him up higher....." immediately she raised it, people from left, right and center began to demonstrate the meaning of the song and the next thing was something hitting me right in the deepest part of my nostril...the smell that emanated was like that from a skunk!

That same day, Pastor mounted the pulpit and was about preaching when he began to charge everyone to give God thanks by raising our hands up to the sky and shout "halleluyaaaaah"...YAY! MO GBE! Another bomb blast hitting me...ahn ahn na! This is not fair o, I thought to myself.

Anyways, after the service, I warned my friend not to sing such a song so long so people who have the tendency to kill can be stopped before their motives can be carried out unknowingly.

We've really come a long way sha! Mrs. Adebayo...I doubt if you would remember this day though. Lol.

Wow!!!

I just figured out that I've not posted anything for more than a year now, chai! Yea, a lot of things have happened overtime and I'm trying to tell myself that I have to wake up and do something.

Yea, having said that I'll like to thank God for increasing me all round! Yes! The last time I posted on this blog, I was single. Thank God in April this year, he gave me my own and I can proudly say you can call me Mrs. Nwogu #WinkWink

It was a long walk before we finally got to the point of taking our vows but it really was worth it. For those expecting, it will surely happen...I'm not in the group of preaching long sermon because God has done my own...just trust God to make things work in your favour.

Until I come your way next time, stay cool and remain blessed.

For some, it was an awesome 2015, some others had it terrible and while others would say "it was just there jare". I had an awesome year and I believe it will be better in 2016 than the past years.

For those who didn't get what they wanted in the past year, God is cooking a better pot of soup for you. His promises never fail, if he said he will do it then believe he will.

I welcome you all into a new year of more of Divine grace and favour.

I went out sometime ago and on my way going back, I boarded a bus. I was the first person to join the bus and had the chance to sit in front. The conductor of the bus was still calling out to passengers going that route when I turned to look at something in the direction of the driver and my eyes caught the physical structure of the driver. He was/is an amputee!

There are so many people out there who have all their body parts complete, yet are waiting for help from God-knows-where. They are so lazy to work...it really is so annoying! Then when you have worked so hard and earned your pay at the end of the month and they come asking you for some chips which you may not able to give them, they get offended. Here is a man with no legs but is able to pull himself together to get a life for himself. The sight of the guy really spurred up something in me to let me know that there is nothing impossible if you put your mind to it.

Tongue Twisters!

There are so many things that people do around me and I find them quite funny! I just find it ridiculous when I hear a beta naija man or woman trying to twist his or her tongue while talking to someone who is not a Nigerian or who has a tush (American/British etc) accent. Can't people just be real to themselves and people around them? Why can't the oyibo person try to talk like us instead? Must we bite our tongues to be understood? Must we try to impress anybody? Biko the tin just taya me!

Several times I've been in places where I'm having a conversation with someone who I know can't even speak complete english sef and an oyibo-speaking person comes around and the switching of tongue ehn na die! #smh. Anyways, I like me and my naija tongue, I don't have to switch the way I talk just to impress anybody. I actually have a sister-in-law who is not Nigerian and I speak pidgin english with her make she sabi my own tongue too. Lol.

Bottom line is be yourself, do not change to give a false impression, be proud of who you are regardless of where you find yourself. That is not to say you can't learn new things to make you be a better person.

Happy new month!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend? The end of this year is fast approaching and I can say it has been God all the way. It may have been awesome all the way from the beginning of this year up till now for some, while for some others it may not have been so splendid. It is not the end and there is still time for you to receive your expectations.

We hear of so many gory stories in the news each and every day and none of the evils has come near us. That is so much to thank God for. Having nothing substantial doesn't mean God is not with you and he doesn't hear your prayer requests, it just means that he is preparing something mega for you and he will definitely grant your request.

I'm not so much of a preacher but I just want to encourage someone this morning and let you know that God is up to something when you are down to nothing. Thank God for the little you have now instead of complaining and he sure will do more next time. He may even take the little you have away from you so as to bring new and better things your way, don't fight it, just give in and ask him for directions.

Have a blessed week ahead and remember only #GoodThings are permitted to happen to you.

This cracked me up big time though...Lolz

In life there'll come a time when everyone around you will sound concerned (both the sincere and insincere ones) about your marital status and start asking you some funny questions that may get you embarrassed.

Marriage is a beautiful thing that should be experienced with your soul mate...abi? As people neva see their soul mates make we go marry heart ache? MBANU! I've heard a lot in my life's journey that has made me smile, laugh, cry, angry because of this same marriage issue...

Let me tell you guys a story...someone once told me of a lady who got married quite early. She had two cousins who were sisters and were yet to join the married train. She went visiting the sisters one day and while there she went "when are we going to hear wedding bells ringing in this house o?" and of course the sisters who may have been praying for God to answer their prayers reacted to her question and went "#Clapping! when are we going to hear the cry of a baby in this house ooo?!". You can guess what would have happened after that, the married lady never brought up that topic again...ever. Apparently she had been married for a while without any issue and unfortunately for her, she clicked the wrong button with her cousins. I felt for her sha.

Now what I'm saying is that everybody has different timing for their own blessings and secondly, not everybody that goes into it is really happy (not my portion sha) but some do it just because they feel time is running out on them and you know with the saying that goes "do somtin before somtin do you".

Some people keep asking "when when when?" like their lives depend on it. I really wish people will focus their energy into facing their homes and stop asking ridiculous questions about the colour of aso-ebi and the quantity of rice they will like to eat on your wedding day. If na to marry, people for don marry finish. If I keep writing on this issue, I no go commot here today. But really, people should be sensitive to know that these questions about marriage strike people in some deep ways sometimes. Or maybe for those that are married and keep asking, as the single ones neva still see husbands, dem fit bring their husbands to share na...abi no be so? Diaris love in "shiarring" na. Mtcheew.

Its September already...wow! How fast this year has been. I remember when we all screamed "Happy new year" into 2014, it was just like yesterday. Now in a few months time, we all will be screaming "Happy new year" into 2015.

August was a wonderful month for me and especially for a very good friend of mine, Ema Oyeyiola whose birthday was on the 20th of August and also had her 1st baby on that same day. I'm just so happy for her. Let me use this medium to express my love for her...Ema has been a friend indeed, a sister (younger and older :-p) a mentor etc words can't thank her enough for always being there when I needed her most. Today also happens to be her wedding anniversary! Yay! I pray that God will always be there for her and her family and increase them on every side.

This is not to say I have not had or don't have other friends that are amazing. Naija! Naija!! Naija!!! I hail thee. Where are our girls??? Where are our young girls??? It was said that one Mr. Pogo Bitrus gave information on the whereabouts of the missing girls...

"Pogo Bitrus said there had been "sightings" of gunmen crossing with the girls into Cameroon and Chad. Some of the girls had been forced to marry the militants" he added. Mr Bitrus said 230 girls were missing since militants attacked the school in Chibok, Borno state, two weeks ago.

Now I'm so pissed at the government for their slow actions towards these our missing girls. If their children, wives or close relatives were involved, are they saying they would have been this slow in their actions? This is so sad and dis-heartening walahi! It has been 15 days since the girls were taken away, mothers have been wailing for God's intervention, fathers have been depressed, siblings and families are still hoping God will look upon their plight and bring their babies back home. I don't want to imagine what those monsters would have been doing with them...no one wants to see it using their minds' eyes.

I just came across this story a few minutes ago of a pot showing up in a place which caused anxiety and fear in the hearts of many and even those in the government house..it sounds so funny to me ehn. Maybe they should have stated the colour of the pot boya it is/was red, black, white or purple sef so that the story can be complete. Mtcheeew!

The part that got me laughing hard was "It was learnt that government house security men stationed close to the roundabout, on sighting the pot, moved away from their original place just as staff of government house were seen in clusters discussing the pot." Whish pot?! Whish pot o?! When there are other matters going on that should be dealt with they are there organizing town hall meeting to discuss the appearance of "The Pot". Hian!!!

Hello everyone,

I know it has really been a long time since I put something up on this blog...na so e dey be sometimes o jare. The last time I put something up here was in January and of course a lot of water has passed under the bridge from that time till now.

Anyways today has been a sad day for the country as there was a bomb blast in Abuja which took (as at the last I heard) more than 100 lives. The heart of man is desperately wicked!!! I know it o!!! Chai! May God avenge the blood of those that died in that bomb blast.

I don't think I want to put up any of the gory pictures that have been flying all over the internet because I'm sure we've seen more than enough.

I want us to observe a minute silence for those whose lives have gone to the other side and also pray for this country for peace to reign. We should also pray for God to order our steps aright and lead us to wherever we are going safely.

Man kisses fellow man and bites off lower lip

A motor park tout, Alex Areji on Thursday appeared before an Aso Pada Grade 1 Area Court, in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, for allegedly biting off the lower lip of a taxi driver.

The accused is facing a one-count charge of causing grievous hurt.

According to the prosecutor, Friday Adaji the case was reported at the `A’ Division Police Station on Jan. 2 by Ifangi Alade of Aso `A’ Mararaba.

Areji had assisted Alade, the taxi driver to load passengers into his vehicle. After which he was given N40 by Alade but he refused, asking for an additional N10. He then started fighting the driver, biting off his lower lips in the process. He was later arrested by the police.

At the hearing, the accused pleaded not guilty.

The presiding judge, Mr Albrert Mada, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100, 000 and a surety in like sum and adjourned the case to Jan. 30 for further hearing. Culled

Apparently, she was talking about how to make the shape of love (heart)...with her hands. Whew!

So many kids know a lot of things going on around them but do not bring them out the right way. So I'd say it is our duty to put them in check and make sure they do the right things and in the right way. So I'm sure if she knew better, she would have said "Daddy I know how to make love shape" or "I know how to make heart shape". Make the word "shape" dey dia before nonsense paedophiles wey dey around hear am come begin process evil tins for dia brains.

Now, meet this cute little chick, her name is Heaven...(yes I said Heaven) Olajide. She is four years old and she has a lot of things in her head you can't imagine.

I've known her parents for a very long time now...in fact, her mum is like an elder sister to me. She is one smart little kid that amazes me.

She knows all or most of the reigning dance steps in naija now, she is a chatter box and is very flexible...I think she'll be a good athlete in the nearest future..lol.

God has been wonderful to each and everyone of us from the beginning of this year till this time and all we need do is to thank him for everything...count your blessings, name them one by one and not your misfortunes.

Now, what really is Christmas to you? Is it all about eating and drinking, wining and dining? Is it about throwing of fireworks and making unnecessary noise? Or about buying expensive clothes and shoes just to show off for that day? Or the cooking of rice and chicken? Though we can't take out all of the mentioned from the celebration, but I also believe it is the time when we sit back and think about the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was born for the sake of the world that through him we might be saved.
It is also a time to show love to people around us...everyone around us actually and make sure we spread the good news by our good actions.

Mysterious Water Shows Up In The East

A river with healing powers mysteriously appeared in Nachi, a community in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Already named 'Orimiri Jordan' (River Jordan) it has become a Pilgrimage Centre, playing host to people from all parts of Nigeria.

Countless testimonies abound as Nigerians struggle to dip themselves into the River.

According to reports, it all started on the 11th day of November 2013 when a Fulani herdsman ran to the community and announced how water covered the place just few minutes after he passed.

“He told us that he passed that place with his herd of cattle and soon after, heard a strange noise; when he turned back, he discovered that a big stream has appeared at the same place he just passed with his cattle. At that point, he ran to Garki and informed his relatives, who also came there and discovered that the water had healing power. From that point, the news spread to the community”, a source disclosed.

Speaking on the origin of the river, the traditional ruler of Nachi community, His Royal Highness, Igwe F.O Onuigbo, Obi II of Nachi, said that at his palace that the mystery River was older than him.

He said “I used to pass through that area to attend school at Inyi-Achi in Oji River, in the early 40s. In those days, there is no water there, the only thing you see there is white sand. But once you get there and you are thirsty, all you need to do is to scratch the surface of the land and ask if for water, water will full your hand immediately if you are an upright person, but if you are evil, no water will come out. That has been the situation”.

Another octogenarian, Chief Festus Ude said “later, we noticed that after some years, the water will form a stream there and would disappear in few weeks. If such happens, we will be fetching water there. However, women who are menstruating and evil people don’t go there. We never heard about healing power of the River until this recent appearance of the River.

“The last time it appeared was in 1992, and at that time, it just formed a small stream, which later disappeared. It has never been as large as this. This is all I know, we have never known about its healing power, this is the first time we are hearing about healing, I don’t whether it is true, we equally heard it like you”.

On the other side of the road, cans of various sizes are displayed for those who came empty handed. From that point, you park your vehicle, mount on Okada and the journey begins.

According to motorcyclist, “I have a vulcanizing shop at the Nachi Market, but when this new business came, I had to close the shop temporarily so that I can also make money here. I hardly make N1000 a day there in my shop, but since I joined this Okada transport to the Enugu Jordan River, I make no less than N10, 000 every day. One of my friends called my attention to it, and I will forever be grateful to him”.

The okada operators charge their passengers fares ranging from N500 to N1000 depending on their bargaining power.

On getting to the River, another business scene welcomes you. Here, apart from those hawking snacks, photographers are not left out. This presents the place as not just a miracle centre, but a tourist centre. While some of the visitors dip themselves or swim in the River, the photographers take shots, get the pictures ready immediately at the cost of N200 depending on the number of exposures.

One of the photographers said that they make between N20, 000 to N40, 000 every day.

“You can see that some people come for fun, not just in search of miracle but to see the mysterious River. So when such people come, they request for shots and it has really provided us with good business here.

Sources disclosed that many visitors had testified to all forms of miracles after visiting the place.

People of all ages, with all forms of ailments are being assisted by their relatives and friends to dip themselves into the River.

A can seller at the entrance said “my house help was suffering from enlarged scrotum; we were trying to raise money to go to University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital before a friend told me about this place. We brought the boy here and by the time we went home, he was fully healed, that was how I started selling empty cans here”.

Another visitor, a civil servant, who identified himself as James told our correspondent that he came after neighbours told him about the healing power of the water.

“I heard about people who had difficulties in walking but they got healed after visiting this place; I also heard of people who regained their sight after visiting this place; I am just coming out from the River and I believed that I am free of any form of sickness and challenges”.

Meanwhile, the crowd of anxious Nigerians seeking for miraculous solutions to their problems has continued to surge into the River.

Even security agents are not left behind as some of them were seen either with their water cans or aiding their loved ones into the River.

However, the water is expected to also dry up any time in the same mysterious way as it came.

People these days tend to put their trust in unreasonable things. The miracles they claim they are experiencing are from where? Above or beneath? "Some put their trust in chariots, some in horses.."
